ABOUT US

A QUICK UPDATE FOR OUR VISITORS

As some of you may know, we have been a thriving division of CMP Technology, which is owned by United Business Media (UBM). We have recently formed a powerful new business unit directly under UBM called TechWeb to serve the information and business needs of 10,000,000 business technology decision-makers like you that use our websites, attend our events, utilize our services and read our magazines. To learn more about TechWeb and how we can help drive your business, go to techweb.com/aboutus.

InformationWeek is a weekly print magazine that reaches 440,000 Business Technology professionals at more than a quarter million unique locations. It is read by Business Technology professionals whose titles span the IT spectrum and provides unique perspective and in-depth analysis on news, research and IT trends. Our mission is to help Business Technology professionals drive business innovation. And over the last 19 years, IT professionals have responded with unparalleled loyalty.

InformationWeek.com delivers breaking news, a comprehensive array of proprietary InformationWeek research, as well as analysis on IT trends, a whitepaper library, and original editorial content, all designed to complement our print publication in a 24/7 environment.

InformationWeek Research identifies and interprets business technology trends and issues, producing more than 30 studies each year. Among its most well-known studies and reports are the annual InformationWeek 500 (the premier listing of the nation's largest and most innovative users of information technology); the National IT Salary Survey (the nation's largest employee-based compensation and benefits study); and the Global Information Security Study (6 languages, more than 15 countries participate). We also produce the weekly Behind the Numbers section that spotlights the latest IT market research trends. To read our research reports, please check out Informationweekresearch.com.

InformationWeek Events are where Business Technology buyers and sellers connect in an environment that’s truly conducive to meaningful interaction. We create an educational atmosphere by bringing together industry luminaries, Business Technology professionals, and our editors to discuss and debate today’s most critical issues and trends. Added to this is the stamp of leadership and objectivity that only the InformationWeek brand can bring, resulting in the ideal forum for building productive business relationships.

To reach an individual editor, take a look at the Contact Us page. You can also view staff bios. While the magazine is based in New York, many of the editors are elsewhere in the U.S., so please consider time zones.

FOR READERS:
I want to subscribe to the print magazine.
Fill out the form here.

I have a problem with my print subscription.
Contact our subscription service and send an E-mail to customerservice@informationweek.com or call 888-664-3332 (U.S. only) 847-763-9588 (outside the U.S.)

Who do I contact to subscribe to or for concerns about InformationWeek E-mail newsletters?
Contact Joe Sterzel.

I want to write a letter to the editor.
You can write to the address above. You can also write a letter with our online form, though you may want to consider writing a public message in the Listening Post, our online discussion forum. That lets you interact with the magazine editors. We can't answer every letter, and not all letters will be printed in the magazine, but we read every one of them and will respond when appropriate.

I have a problem with the site.
If your concern is with the content (that is, a typo in an article, or a picture displayed upside down), or if something isn't working on the site (the search engine quits searching), contact the director of operations.

How do I get a job at InformationWeek?
CMP Media Inc. publishes InformationWeek. You can see what jobs are currently available at CMP at CMP's corporate site.

I want to know about your privacy policy.
Sure thing. It's right here.

  FOR VENDORS AND PR PEOPLE:
I want you to write about me (or the company I represent).
Your best bet is to contact the reporter or editor who handles your technical or business area. See the Editor's Beat List to find the right person. Send the reporter an E-mail message, however, rather than pick up the phone; that's what most journalists prefer.

Before you do, though, make sure that you understand InformationWeek and the nature of its coverage. Keep in mind that we take an end-user enterprise perspective. In general, we avoid NDAs and embargoed material.

Who is working on which story?
Look at the editorial calendar to see what's coming up that fits your company. If you find something appropriate, the proper person to contact is the writer associated with that beat. If that still doesn't help, send an E-mail to Eileen Bellafiore.

If you want to do the best job possible of communicating with InformationWeek editors and reporters, we recommend that you read our our tips for contacting us.

What are your deadlines?
For the Daily Newsletter and news posted on the Web site, it's every weekday. For print content, the deadline for feature stories is three weeks before publication date; the deadline for news stories is Thursday, though we try to accommodate breaking news on Friday as well.

How do I find out which reporter is covering a trade show?
The news editors know which reporter is attending a trade show. Send a message to Chris Murphy.

Do you accept outside contributions?
Freelancers interested in writing for InformationWeek should E-mail their contact information to Chris Murphy, InformationWeek's managing editor of features. We don't publish unsolicited articles, though we sometimes run thought-provoking opinion columns by outside contributors.

I want to advertise in InformationWeek.
Look for our media kit and rate card or contact a salesperson.

I want to reprint a story that appeared in InformationWeek.
Contact Cindy Zauss.

I'd like a reprint of an article you published.
You'll find the details and the contact information here.

I want to submit an event to the InformationWeek datebook.
Fill out this form, but be aware that we don't accept all entries.
